Call for applications

The International Trade Group in the Department of Economics at LMU Munich invites applications for the following fellowship program:

The Junior Fellowship in International Trade (JFIT).

This (postdoctoral) fellowship is targeted at Economics graduates who have recently completed their Ph.D. degree or will do so in 2023, and who specialize in topics of international trade in their research.

JFIT Fellows are invited to spend up to two months as visitors at the Department of Economics. Preferred times for the visit are in the summer term between April 17 and July 21, 2023. Fellows conduct their own research on topics in international trade and participate in the academic and intellectual life of the Economics community in Munich, including the Department of Economics, the Center for Economic Studies (CES), the ifo Institute and the CESifo network. They are also considered for membership in the CESifo network and can participate in the CESifo area conference on Global Economy. Fellows receive reimbursement of their Economy air fare to and from Munich and a per diem of 150 euros (for a maximum of 60 days) to cover costs of accommodation and other costs. The exact timing and duration of the stay is flexible but longer stays are preferred.

Applications should be sent via e-mail to office.eckel@econ.lmu.de. Applicants should submit a CV, their job-market paper and a letter of motivation that also indicates the preferred timing of their visit. In addition, applicants should have two confidential letters of recommendation sent to the e-mail address above. Review of the applications will begin February 15, 2023, and continue until the position is filled.
